As per the guidelines of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) are granted in accordance with the class strength, and the maximum number of students allowed in each class is fixed.
However, in exceptional cases, such as the transfer of a parent or a family member of a student who is already studying in the KV or the relocation of a student due to a change in their parent’s profession, admission may be granted over and above the class strength.
It is important to note that such admissions are subject to the discretion of the Principal and are granted on a case-to-case basis, depending on the availability of seats, infrastructure facilities, and other factors.

KVS Admission 2023-24 Class 1 Online Registration: General Instructions
Admission to Class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) schools is a competitive process. Here are some general instructions for the KVS admission process for Class 1:

- With Login Code you can chose maximum 3 Kendriya Vidyalaya without any preference, after choosing Kendriya Vidyalaya you need to click on Submit Button.
- After Click on Submit Button you will get the Application Submission Code which is different from Login Code.
KVs Admission 2023-24 ~ Special Provisions
Following categories of children would be admitted over and above the class strength except where stated otherwise in the provision itself.
(1) Each Directorate of education of Armed Forces i.e. Indian Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guards can recommend maximum 06 names for admission of children of their Defence Personnel in an academic year in Kendriya Vidyalayas located in Defence Sector except classes X and XII. These admissions would be over and above the class strength and other than Part A Para 5 of KVS admission guidelines & would be done on the orders issued by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
