KVS Foundation Day:  Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Foundation Day is celebrated every year on 15th December. KVS is an autonomous body that runs a system of central government schools in India. The foundation of KVS was laid on 15th December, 1963 with the aim of providing education to the children of central government employees who are often transferred from one place to another.

The KVS Foundation Day is celebrated in all Kendriya Vidyalayas across India with cultural programs, competitions, and speeches by the Principal and Senior Officials. The day serves as a reminder of the organization’s commitment to providing quality education to students and to preserving Indian culture and values.

KVS Foundation Day History   

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) was established on 15th December, 1963, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The foundation of KVS was laid to ensure that children of such employees receive a continuity of education, despite frequent transfers. Initially, KVS was established with only 7 schools, but today it has over 1252 schools in India (1st March 2024 Till) and abroad, providing quality education to more than 14 lakh students.

KVS Foundation Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the establishment of this prestigious organization and to pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of its staff and teachers. The day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and various cultural and educational programs are organized in all Kendriya Vidyalayas across India to mark this occasion.
