Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Important Facts:  Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is a central government educational organization in India. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) was set up in 1963, as a registered body, wholly financed by Government to establish, control and manage Kendriya Vidyalayas, the main objective of which is to meet the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees. Here are some important facts about KVS:

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Establishment: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a system of central government schools in India, established on 15th December 1963 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Objective: The primary objective of KVS is to provide education to the children of transferable central government employees, including Indian Defence Services and para-military personnel who are often posted to remote locations..

Number of Schools: KVS operates more than 1252 schools across India and abroad. As of March 31, 2023, KVS has over 1252 schools across India, as well as schools in Nepal, Moscow, and Tehran.

Curriculum: KVS follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum and its schools offer education from primary to senior secondary levels.

Medium of Instruction: KVS offers education in three languages- Hindi, English, and the regional language of the state where the school is located.

Admissions: Admission to KVS schools is based on a system of priority, which includes children of transferable and non-transferable central government employees, children of armed forces personnel, and children of other categories of employees.

Staff: KVS has a large workforce of around 55,000 employees, including teachers, administrative staff, and support staff.

Activities: Apart from academics, KVS encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities like sports, music, dance, and other cultural events.
