KVS Admission 2023-24: Know Special Provision for Admission of wards of Armed / Para Military Forces

KVS Admission 2024 Special Provision for wards of Armed and Para Military: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has notified a Notification for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas across India. KVS Admission Guideline 2023-24 and KVS Admission Schedule 2023-24 along with official notice are available from 21st March 2023. Now KVS Admission process for the class 1st and 2nd to 12th (Except 11th class) has been started from fixed scheduled.

For Class 1st, the registration for admission has started science 27th March at 10 AM through online mode only. While Registration for Class II and above will be started from 3 April 2023 (Monday) at 08:00 am to 12 April 2023 (Wednesday) upto 04:00 pm in offline mode only.

Special provision has been made for admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya for children of Armed & Para Military Forces. As per the KVS Admission Guidelines 2023-24, children of Armed & Para Military Forces would be admitted over and above the class strength except where stated otherwise in the provision itself.

KVS Admission of wards of Armed & Para Military Forces:

 As per KVS Admission Guideline 2023-24, the special provision for admission in kendriya vidyalaya of wards of armed / para military forces is given below;

Basis of Transfer Certificate: Automatic admission of children in the Kendriya Vidyalayas on the basis of transfer certificate issued by the schools following NCERT/ CBSE curriculum & syllabus and run by Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy) and Para Military Forces i.e. CRPF/BSF/ITBP/SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal)/CISF/NSG, Assam Rifles and schools run by Indian Coast guard, ISRO/AEES (Atomic Energy Education Society) will be entertained only if the parent has been transferred to that place or has desired to settle at the place after his retirement, or transferred to some non-family station or posted in Naxal affected areas and choose to keep the family elsewhere.

Provision for Indian Coast Guard: This provision shall be applicable to schools run by Indian Coast Guard also. This provision may also be extended to the children of government employees studying in schools run by ISRO/AEES (Atomic Energy Education Society).

What is means of Armed & Para Military Forces: It is clarified that above provisions are only for the wards of Defence personnel/Para Military Forces i.e. CRPF/BSF/ITBP/SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal)/CISF/NSG and Assam Rifles viz. sons & daughters only.  The Grand children of Defence personnel will not be considered as a word of Armed / Para Military Forces for admission in KVs.

Relaxation in Age Criteria: Provisions of KVS admission guidelines including the eligibility criteria for age and marks/grades will be followed in letter and spirit.

KVS Admission 2023 ~ TC & Fee

The fee including VVN is to be paid from the month of admission of the child in the Kendriya Vidyalaya regardless of the fact that the fee for succeeding months have already been paid in the school from which TC has been issued for admission to KV. TCs issued by the CBSE affiliated schools of Defence Ministry/ Deptts/ Authority will be endorsed by the concerned Deputy Commissioner of the region where admission is sought.

Priority in Transfer: The transfer of armed/para-military forces personnel is considered on a priority basis to ensure continuity in the education of their children.

The admission of wards of Armed/Para Military Forces personnel is subject to the condition that the parents of the students have been transferred to the place where the Kendriya Vidyalaya is located. In case the transfer is within the same city, the child is eligible for admission in the Kendriya Vidyalaya located in that city.

Special Provision for Admission of wards of Armed / Para Military Forces

As per the KVS Admission guidelines 2023-24, there are certain special provisions for the admission of wards of armed/para-military forces personnel in Kendriya Vidyalayas. These provisions are as follows:

Priority in Admission: The children of armed/para-military forces personnel are given priority in admission to Kendriya Vidyalayas. In case the number of seats is limited, then the priority is given in the following order:

a. Wards of personnel killed in action

b. Wards of serving personnel

c. Wards of ex-servicemen

d. Wards of serving/retired personnel of the paramilitary forces

Waiver of Fees: The tuition fees for the children of armed/para-military forces personnel are waived off completely.

Special Provisions in KVS Admission ~ Aims

These special provisions are aimed at providing support and assistance to the children of armed/para-military forces personnel, who often face frequent transfers and other challenges. By giving them priority in admission and other benefits, Kendriya Vidyalayas seek to provide a conducive environment for their overall development and academic progress.

KVS Class 1 Admission Required Document list?

The required documents for KVS Class 1 admission may vary depending on the specific school and location. However, the following documents are generally required for KVS Class 1 admission:

Birth Certificate or Age Certificate: A valid birth certificate issued by the municipal corporation or any authorized authority or a certificate of age issued by a recognized medical practitioner can be submitted as proof of the child’s age.

Address Proof: A proof of residence such as a Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Aadhar Card, Electricity Bill, Water Bill, Telephone Bill, or any other document as proof of residence.

Transfer Certificate (TC): If the child is transferring from another school, a transfer certificate from the previous school is required.

Caste Certificate: In case of reserved category candidates, a caste certificate issued by the competent authority is required.

Income Certificate: For candidates from economically weaker sections, an income certificate issued by the competent authority is required.

Photographs: Recent passport-size photographs of the child, father and mother/guardian may be required. It is recommended to check with the specific KVS school for their specific requirements and any additional documents that may be required for admission.
