KVS Admission 2023-24:  KV Admission under PM Cares Children Scheme, Kids who lost parents due to COVID-19

KVS Admission under PM Cares Children Scheme: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has released KVS Admission Guidelines 2023-24 on 21 March 2023. These Guidelines are applicable for admission in all Kendriya Vidyalayas in India. For academic session 2023-24, online registration for admission in class 1st will be started from 27th March 2023 and end on 17th April 2023. As per KVS Admission Guidelines 2023-24, admission under PM Cares Children Scheme the children would be admitted over and above the class strength except where stated otherwise in the provision itself.

Children orphaned due to Covid-19 pandemic will be considered for admission over and above the class strength under PM CARES for Children Scheme. The admission will be done on the basis of list given by District Magistrate of the concerned District subject to 10 children per KV and maximum of 02 children per class. These children will be exempted from payment of fees (Tuition fee, Computer fund, and VVN) from Classes I to XII. (Only for registered candidates in PM CARES for Children portal).

KV Admission Rule for PM CARES Children

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) provides admission guidelines for all students, including those who may have been affected by any calamity, natural or otherwise. These guidelines include priority for admission to wards of central government employees, transferable and non-transferable, and other specific categories such as single girl child, differently-abled children, etc.

PM CARES Scheme

PM CARES (Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations) is a fund created by the Government of India to provide relief to those affected by any emergency or distress situation, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. If the children affected by such situations fall under any of the categories specified in the KVS admission guidelines, they may be given priority for admission.

It is advisable to check with the KVS regional office or the concerned Kendriya Vidyalaya for any specific guidelines or concessions that may be applicable to children affected by such situations.

KVS Admission 2023-24: Age Criteria

  • Class I:  6 years but less than 08 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class II:  7 years but less than 09 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class III: 7 years but less than 09 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class IV: 8 years but less than 10 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class V: 9 years but less than 11 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class VI: 10 years but less than 12 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class VII: 11 years but less than 13 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class VIII: 12 years but less than 14 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class IX: 13 years but less than 15 years of age as on 31st March 2023.
  • Class X: 14 years but less than 16 years of age as on 31st March 2023.

PM CARES Scheme ~Period

The eligible children shall be enrolled from 29.05.2021 (date of announcement of Hon’ble PM) to 31.12.2021 to avail benefits of PM CARES for Children Scheme. The Scheme is expected to continue till the year when every identified beneficiary shall turn 23 years of age.

  1. Both parents or
  2. Surviving parent or
  3. legal guardian/adoptive parents/single adoptive parent due to COVID 19 pandemic,
  4. Child should not have completed 18 years of age on the date of death of parents
