KVS PGT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has released the KVS PGT Eligibility Criteria in official notification for recruitment of posts of Post Graduate Teacher for Subjects wise. Those Candidates who are preparing for the recruitment to the post of PGT must check the KVS PTG Eligibility Criteria as educational Qualification, Age Limit and more. If a candidate is found to be failing to meet any of the conditions mentioned in the KVS PGT Eligibility Criteria, then they should complete it. Otherwise their application form will be rejected. KVS PGT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the position of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), the candidate must meet the following educational qualifications:
A. Two Year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course of Regional College of Education of NCERT in the subject concerned. OR The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks. The relevant subjects include English, Hindi, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Bio-Technology and Computer Science
KVS PGT Qualification for Subject wise (relevant subjects)
- For KVS PGT English Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in English with at least 50% marks.
- For KVS PGT Hindi Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Hindi with at least 50% marks and Hindi or Sanskrit with Hindi as one of the subjects at graduation level.
- For KVS PGT Physics Eligibility Criteria: The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Nuclear Physics with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- For KVS PGT Chemistry Eligibility Criteria: The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Bio Chemistry with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- For KVS PGT Economics Eligibility Criteria: The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/ Business Economics with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- For KVS PGT Commerce Eligibility Criteria: Master’s degree in Commerce. However, holder of Degree of M.Com in Applied/ Business Economics shall not be eligible.
- For KVS PGT Commerce Eligibility Criteria: The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- For KVS PGT Biology Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have a Master’s Degree in the onle subject of Botany/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/Bio Sciences/ Genetics/ Micro Biology/ Bio-Technology/ Molecular Biology/ Plant Physiology from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate and they have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation level.
- For KVS PGT History Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in History with at least 50% marks.
- For KVS PGT Geography Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Geography with at least 50% marks.
B. The candidate must have a B. Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
C. The candidate should have proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.
Important Note: Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of Computer Applications
KVS PGT Bio-Technology Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in any one of the Bio-Technology/ Genetics/ Micro Biology/ Life Science/ Bio-Science/ Bio-Chemistry subject degree from a recognized university.
The candidate should have proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.
KVS PGT Computer Science Eligibility Criteria~ Essential Qualification
Candidates should have At least 50% marks in aggregate in any of the following:
B.E. or B.Tech. (Computer Science or IT) from a recognized university or equivalent Degree/diploma an institution/university recognized by the Government of India OR
B.E or B.Tech (Any stream) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer from a recognized university OR
M.Sc (CS) or MCA or equivalent from a recognized university OR
B.Sc (CS)/BCA or Equivalent and Post Graduate Degree in subjects from a recognized university OR
‘B’ Level from DOEACC and Post Graduate degree in any subjects OR
‘C’ Level from DOEACC’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.
The candidate should have proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium
KVS PGT Eligibility Criteria 2023~ Age Limit
Age Limit: The upper age limit for KVS PGT is 40 years. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms which are given below in the Table.

Important Note: It is important to note that meeting the above eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection for the KVS PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) post. The selection process includes a written examination, interview and evaluation of teaching skills and proficiency in computer applications.
