Priority in Class 1 Admission in KVS: Know the Priority in Admission for Defence & Govt Employee Childs

Priorities in KVS Admission 2023-24: Online registration will be open for admission in class 1st from 27 March 2023 at 10.00 AM for academic session 2023-24. Parents are exercising to registration through official website of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan@ kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in with this aim that I will be successful in getting admission to my child. Online registration for class 1 will be closed on 17 April 2023 at 7PM.

Registration for Class II and above will be commence from 03 April 2023 (Monday) at 08:00 am to 12 April 2023 (Wednesday) upto 04:00 pm if vacancies exist in offline mode only. The duly filled up form needs to be submitted to the office of the Principal in the respective KV.

Instruction to Fill KVS Online Application Form | How to Apply for KVS Admission 2023-24

Parents are being advised that they should be well aware that admission will be done in Kendriya Vidyalaya on priority basis. Therefore we are explaining to the priority in KVS Admission 2023-24.

Criteria for Priority in KVS Admission 2023-24

The following priorities shall be followed in granting admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas:

{A} Priority in Kendriya Vidyalayas Admission under Civil/ Defence Sector

Priority will be given to the following children in the order as below.

  1. Children of transferable and non-transferable Central government employees
  2. children of ex- servicemen
  3. children of Foreign National officials, who come in India on invitation by Central Government.
  4. Children of non-transferable / transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies /Public Sector Undertaking/IHL {Institute of Higher Learning} Govt of India.
  5. Children of State Government employee.
  6. Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/ Public Sector Undertakings/ IHL of the State Govt.
  7. Children from any other category.
  8. Children of Foreign Nationals who are located in India due to their work. But these will be considered in case no children of Indian are left in the waitlist for admission.

Note: Preference in Admission to wards will be based on the number of transfers of the parents in the last 7 years.

Priority in KVS Admission for Defence & Govt Employee Childs

Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) are government schools under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. They are intended to provide quality education to the children of government employees, including defence personnel, who are frequently transferred from one place to another.

In the KVS admission process, priority is given to children of Defence personnel and Government employees in the following order:

  1. Children of transferable and non-transferable central government employees and children of ex-servicemen. This category also includes children of foreign national officials, who come on deputation or transfer to India on behalf of the government.
  2. Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of autonomous bodies/public sector undertakings/Institute of Higher Learning of the Government of India.
  3. Children of transferable and non-transferable state government employees.
  4. Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of autonomous bodies/ public sector undertakings/Institute of Higher Learning of the State Governments.
  5. Children from any other category, including private sector employees and others.

Note: It’s important to note that if the seats reserved for a particular category remain vacant, they are filled by candidates from the general category. To avail the priority given to Defence and Government employees’ children, the parents need to provide proof of their employment at the time of KVS Admission 2023.

Priority of class 1 admission in KVs under PSU / IHL

Priority First: Children and grandchildren of employees of the Project Sector/Institutes of Higher Learning which are the sponsors of the Vidyalaya, Children of Project employees & Post Graduate students who are working on long term research projects, Children of regular Council of Wardens (COW) employees and children and grandchildren of retired employees.

In other words you can say, the first priority for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas under PSU / IHL (Public Sector Undertaking / Institute of Higher Learning) is given to children and grandchildren of employees of the PSU / IHL. This includes regular employees, retired employees, and employees on deputation to the PSU / IHL. Additionally, if seats are still available after admitting children of employees, priority may also be given to children of other central government employees, transferable and non-transferable, and children of employees of autonomous bodies under the central government.
